ROME
Rome is the capitol of Italy and the most populated city. Nonetheless, it offers some of the most historic sights in the country. Rome spans close to 500 square miles but encompasses such sites as the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Vatican City, Castel San Angelo, the Forum, and much more.
Accommodations can be deluxe five star hotels in the center of everything. They can also be one floor in a multi-story building, shared by other hotels. My recommendation is to stay as close to center of Rome as your budget will allow. A great area for the budget conscious is the area by the Train Station. There are numerous hotels at reasonable rates and is also not fare to Trevi Fountain, Via Nazionale & the Forum.
